The striped one is right, small corrections. The big thing is patience. The trailer takes a sec to respond to your imput. Dont get ancy waiting and start sawing at the wheel. Not to over complicat it, but think about how you line up a forklift or pallet jack, the arcing motion and the steer tires following it in...

Striped one....LOL. I like that.street beater Thanks this.

Take your time. Never use the accelerator. Let the engine move you. This gives you more time to make corrections if you're creeping along.
Winnyf1 and street beater Thank this. -
I've said it before, I'll say it again....I freaking LOVE this site! The professionals here are awesome.street beater and FLYMIKEXL Thank this.

Remember this is just training they know tine restraint etc. Don't sweat it and don't let them see you sweat.
street beater and FLYMIKEXL Thank this. -
It took me forever before it finally clicked. If you have the chance just practice as much as you can and try not to get frustrated. Like some others said dont over correct and watch your tandems. Once you see that they are going to clear the trailer beside you it is just a matter of chasing them into the spot. You got this.
FLYMIKEXL Thanks this. -
Also use a ball cap to mark where you need to have pivoted to get in the hole square enough to pull up and bring it straight back. Hope that makes sense. When I was driving I saw a lot of other drivers doing this.
-
Just use a cap with your favorite team on it... hate to see you mess up over and over cuz you just cant not run over that packers hat....dngrous_dime, FLYMIKEXL, Friday and 1 other person Thank this.

I don't know what the student to truck ratio at your school is, but since it's most likely not 1:1 here's some different advice.
When it's your turn to back, get in the truck and focus on learning the back. If you screw it up, reset and try again. Do this until either they kick you out of the truck for someone else's turn or you get the maneuver in. Now, I don't mean do the maneuver and then reset and try again, but do some pull ups and resets if you need them.
We had a guy in my school that would get in the truck and take 20 min to do a backing attempt. We all hated him, but you know what? He was getting twice to four times as much time in the truck as the rest of us. And he passed everything. And once we all got our licenses.. yeah, we don't keep in touch and we're not friends, but except for that he's lost nothing.
P.S. His loss. I'm awesomestreet beater Thanks this. -
Two of the guys in my class finished up the 90 today so hopefully tommorow I can get a truck and they can help me some.. It pisses me off that I can't get this that my mind isn't processing this like I know I can... I want to be a truck driver.
