Well the first couple times are gonna be tricky. Once you get backed in the first time make a note where your tractor is according to the building, kind find a reference point on the truck according to the building that way when you get to the point on the next back you know you are close to the dock.

On those incline backs make sure the top of your trailer at the rear does not come in contact with the rear wall.

After making sure your clearances are good, you may also wish to leave your running lights on. If you can see the rearmost ones, they'll give you an additional reference as to how far you are from docking.

    Good luck!

Take your time, you'll do fine. Make sure your doors are tight against the trailer when they're opened.
At the old AM General truck plant here in town, there was one dock (51) that backed you into the basement! Now that one was fun!

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to give some very good pointers. I appreciate all the good info, I feel better about it after reading all your posts. It looks a little intimidating, but I'm going to give it my best shot.
Hopefully I'll pull a CHOMPI and get it in one shot but with the doors open. LOL. Or at least a couple pull ups anyway.:yes2557:

You'd be surprised how well you do if you are relaxed and attack with a plan! Won't be long and that semi will just be another appendage on your body!

when you get in nice ands straight for the first time--look in your mirror and pick a spot on the lower concrete--and then if they will let you--give it a spray with flourescent paint--just a line vertical--or on both sides if you wish-- it will give you your aiming points next time--hopefully it will show up enough

Take pics and post 'em on TTR. :yes2557: You'll be okay. Chompi's not the only one to hit a dock with the doors closed! I guess it's a rite of passage.
