In general, the end of your last drive tire for a set up. No two backs are the same, but close

This video below is the closest I could find to how I prefer to alley dock. Just remember to always place your fifth wheel in center of the spot you want to dock in before you make your first turn.

I found advice here could be confusing as often as it is helpful. You just have to practice in order to get a better 3-d model in your head of how the truck and trailer move.

Next time you are in a relatively empty lot, just work it and work it and work it. It is a skill of spacial perception that only improves with repetition.

I agree with the not bumping into things, that is your number 1 priority. Nothing wrong with pulling up.
I will also stress that their is nothing wrong with resetting and starting over. Most of the time when you mess up a setup to back you know it almost as soon as you start to back up, it is better to start over than to try to push the issue. This is when I see the most "bumps".

I prefer to get my angle for the back started before I ever start to back the trailer. This lowers the distance needed for the back and keeps me from going in to shallow, which can be a real issue for whatever is on the blind side of your trailer.

I charge a minimum of $20 to back someone else's truck, anything less is an insult

$20 if she's cute, blonde and has a "big" smile

    $75 minimum for everyone else

What "type" of backing do most of you folks do on a regular basis out in the "real world"?

The only two backing maneuvers that my school teaches are straight line and parallel.

All kinds. Whatever is physically possible to do, you will ave to do at some point.
Don't worry - after a few thousand times, nothing can stress you out; you just keep working the problem, one foot at a time if necessary, until that ##### is in the pocket.
