The day I emigrated from Maryland to Arkansas in the late 90s literally got out of the Mack and onto a bus for OTR work with Dowdy and company. He was able to provide all I ever wanted with one of his tractors (It was a good monster during road trip, I took it out for the fall and winter he he he.) more importantly he gave me a future here in this state. It's home.
But anyway. If you go OTR and find yourself boxed in by being fired too many times, wrecking things etc, Construction work mixers, dump truck etc is a good refuge to keep moving and making money.
Im not sure if that will continue. DOT and Uncle Sam seem determined to stamp out freedom among the class B's Where you can almost walk into a dump job in a few minutes without all the paperwork baggage that goes with OTR. -
"When it begins to rain, you begin to slide empty while braking." Understand? Road is abit wet, you want to slow and turn into a plant, she slides you correct and off the brakes. If it means going past the entrance, so be it. Back up and be teased about it. Just don't force the entrance on wet. (All that oil from the blacktop over decades. Treacherous)Goodguy88 Thanks this. -
I wish our new Generation to be strong and able to do things for themselves is all. I feel sometimes I am a dinosaur. But. eh... it's hard.Goodguy88 Thanks this. -
