Honestly backing is something that comes with time and as for the rushed no way to overcome unless you let it go.

Thanks bud, Not to sound snotty but the first commercial truck I ever drove was a 1976 Mack tri axle dump truck. It was a program through my high school and I fell in love with that Mack. 18 speed with a Low, Direct, overdrive dual stick. I will say it was not pretty but I learned a lot reaching through the middle of that steering wheel. To grab a gear. And I will never forget it. I believe I was born to drive, but I am embarrassed to back because of my get out and looks and some of my set ups.

Good timing on the mention. Just got back home. Look for a mention in the right turn thread

I was a nervous wreck backing up. Could barely even do what I needed and I sucked at it. Then I started driving the kw. Still don't know if I finally got enough experience for it to really click or if the truk itself helped me. (Probably a little of both) but point is I was able to reliably get that truck into some of the tigheat spots you can find by myself with no spotter (needed a spotter once doing a night time blind side at the petro in atlanta)

I mean tight. 1 am at a Florida hook. Circled the lot a few times. No spots. Real tight lot not alot of parking. I was bout to go check out the paid parking ta across the street then I heard on the radio "leonards circling the J bout to pull out on the back side" thanked him went round again. Got setup and boooooy was it tight. Got to about 87 degree jack and I'm about 6 inches off the truck to my blindside and 2 inches off the truck on my sight. Brush guards an inch from the yellow pole. (Told ya it was tiny) brush guard rubbed the pole getting in but didn't hit the trucks and got shut down.

Your get your confidence and the skill to back it up is the point to a back I still brag about.

Just do what you gotta do to park it safely. Everyone and everything else can wait. First thing I do when I roll into the truckstop is turn the CB off.

    Woodchuck88 Thanks this.
