#1 Telling the truth for school, isn't the same as telling the truth to a Trucking company. Unless that school is owned by the company.
#2 I've sat in many an orientation class with people who had completed school, then were sent packing after background disclosure. Many of which, will never get a job driving a truck.
#3 The majority of schools could care less about your background. They only care about your wallet.

It only stays on your MVR record for 7-years pursuant to the fair credit reporting act assuming all you say here is correct.
From a retired federal DOT officer -
Tha must be why I have this little black eye thats been hanging around for 13 years. It's covered under Federal Law, rather than something logical.
It's not a CDL releated issue. But it's covered under the same rules and regulations. And overseen by my fine State Officials....who still remain clueless through 4 administrations.

In Aug of 2005 I was arrested for failing to appear at a Child Support hearing that I knew nothing about. Due to the unfair Child Support laws in this country it is actually classified as a 3rd degree FELONY
Statute 941.05 Governors warrant for FTA Flagrant non-support.
I have been fired from Werner after 3 weeks and have been turned down by pretty much every other company.
USIS/DAC Criminal history actually shows it as a felony but doesn't say what it was for, I recieved a copy of my report in the mail and it actually says "CONVICTED - NO"
So I am not a convicted felon but I am being turned down for every job I apply to anyway! I feel like I just wasted $6000.00 for a CDL I cant use!
HELP!
Bob -
You need to get that expunged, yesterday.
Even an arrest record will hold you back. These all can be and should be expunged. It only takes money. -
I cant! Hard to believe but this is actually a case where the incorrect info on my USIS background might help a driver!............lol
The courthouse shows it as ajudicated guilty - extradited
even though I never was extradited, but USIS shows it as NOT CONVICTED
So, in the state of Florida it can never be expunged, because the idiots that wrote the law in my state decided you can only expunge it if there was no conviction. -
Crap, that sucks! Well if you can get me cheaper insurance, I'll hire you, but I have no idea what I'm doing lol.

If you would have taken care of your obligation you wouldn't have had to worry about what you call the "unfair child support laws", would you? And even according to you the violation was for "flagrant non-support".
I've been married to the same lady since 1966, even before I went flying off the Ranger & Bonne Homme Richard in a little country in South East Asia, so I don't know much about child support. But you helped bring them into this world. Even if you couldn't get along with that lady, I find no sympathy for anyone who fails in his obligation in that regard.
But I do wish you success in finding suitable employment.luvtheroad Thanks this. -
Your kidding right? Somehow, I get the feeling that you have absolutely no clue how the so called, 'system' really works.
Typically, mothers getting child support are EXPERTS in using the 'system'. Many are very unscrupulous.
Example:
I know of a mother that temporarily moved in with her mother(in a different town) so she could get her kids' legal name changed back to her maiden name. Here is how it went down. The mother found out that all that was required to do this was to list it in the court news section of a public paper... If nobody objected(like the father or his family) the court would legally change the kids' last name. So the mother temporarily moved to a town where the father and his family would NOT see(or very unlikely see) the public announcing of the name change.
Why ALL this silly covert activity perpetrated by the mother you may ask???
Come to find out, the mother can easily raise the fathers monthly support payments IF there is a legal name change in this particular state.
Suppose the mother might have known this??? Hmmm?
The point? It's VERY unlikely that the father posting here knew of a court date. So don't be so quick to judge.squirrellsgnwild Thanks this. -
If he was current with his support payments he need not have worried about a court date. The bottom line continues to be he failed in his obligation no matter what the laws are/were.
I'm truly sorry for his loss of employment, but it was all caused by his flagrant failure, as stated, to take care of his child/children he brought into this world.luvtheroad Thanks this.
