There are so many posts there are here that tell drivers to research a company before driving for them...

So, seriously people, research any company you are considering driving for.. google the owners name.. do it before you go drive for them not afterwards...

 

The minute I read the name Marcel Pontbriand, I knew he was French Canadian. Extradite?, Quebec probably doesn't want him back, bon Journee...

 

It does seem like a whole lot of weirdos migrate to Pahrump, or elsewhere in Nye County. And a few of them flow over into Inyo County in California.
Are you living in Pahrump now? Kind of a mecca for retired folks. Not to mention dopers, welfare mamas and other undesirables.
UH NOT TO SAY that retired truckers are undesirables! I'm one myself.

 

I can respect all that...I'm saying; I (personally) would rather go over my 14, than sit in the middle of nowhere over a 3 day Holiday weekend. Sorry...I know it's wrong...but there are some things I would not accept.
And I DO have about 3 million miles in all 48 states (every nook and cranny)---so I've "been there, done that" as well.
I've been retired from OTR for 13 months now...and situations like this thread represents is just one of MANY reasons you'll never see me back out there again.

OP, when your truck broke down, you shoulda asked him to exorcise the demons from the truck and heal your shoulder while he's at it.
