Bad Brokers?

Personally... we avoid TQL and CH Robinson (Cheap Axx Robinson) like the plague. Now I know some say they've gotten good loads out of them....
We've never hauled for either of them. As a matter of fact I have TQL blocked on my loadboard so I don't even look at their loads. Every time I've called them they've been at least $0.40/mi cheaper than anyone else. I just end up wanting to stab myself in the eye for wasting my time calling them.

 

I have stopped calling on any TQL loads. Besides being low they act like you are trying to rob them when you give them your rate.

I don't hold my breath on CHR but must admit I am pulling a load right now for them that is above $2, going into a receiver that I want to get a direct deal with and was told it was 30k and turned out to be less than 20k. That never happens with them. They allways seem to drop 5-7K off the actual weight.

 

I only tried TQL once and the load got yanked due to them having a one month in business policy. That rate was nothing to retire on, but it wasn't a bad deal - somewhere just short of $2. Tomorrow is the one month date. If they turn into another Allen Lund, I'll put the filter back on.

 

I've not pulled for CHR for quite some time, but must admit, every load I've gotten from them when smooth and paid on time. I have noticed that they like to go heavy on their loads. I don't!

If you get burned by a broker for payment it is your fault. A solid broker will do their homework on the carriers they use and I want them too. By keeping high safety scores a carrier can charge more for their service. I do not want brokers loading shady carriers who will take freight for any price because the reputable companies will not load them. If a carrier does not do equally the same homework on any broker...or shipper (they are really the same to me, money is green), and they get stiffed then shame on them for not doing the homework
