Went to test my SWR's today and my meter registered just under 1:5 on 20, nearly 2:0 on 1 and 1:4 on 40, so I move the meter and it quits registering anything. I move it around some and still nothing, I set it down and it starts registering again. Tried it on another CB and same thing. I hook the coax back up to the radio do a radio check and get that It sounds good on their end. Hook the meter back up and same thing happens shows nothing. I am thinking that the short piece of coax that I use to connect the meter to the radio is bad, anyone have any other ideas or thoughts?

Quite possible it's just a bad connection in the coax jumper.
I'd swap that coax out first.
Naturally, if the problem than persists, you know it would be a flaky swr meter.

Also check & make sure there's not a battery going dead in the swr meter.
I would think all swr meters have a small battery (possibly small hearing aid style battery), similar to ohmmeters & continuity meters.
I have an old radio shack swr meter, but I don't have it here to look at, to see.

I also think it's just a bad connection in the coax jumper. And most SWR meters there's no battery. Powered by the radio.
