Not everyone wants the same. I wouldn't work local for $100K per year and a lot of other drivers are the same.
I read on here where drivers badmouth other drivers because they don't want the same schedule as someone else does. We're all different. I've always been a roamer, so local driving would send me to an early grave.

i know allot of drivers in western ny that dont want to be away from home. the milk plants are full of them.

everyone has different needs and wants out of this industry. thank god for diversity of work within the industry. we ALL do jobs that are equally important in our contribution to society.

    the possibilities are endless.

It is not as far as I've been told. They told me at work to get to the hotel asap when I'm out because anything other than my 30 is times worked as long as I'm sitting in that truck. Is that the law? I'm not sure, just what I was told by my employer.

wow what an idiot. we seem to have similar problems with drivers spilling milk, the other thing that happens is drivers have fallen asleep while loading milk..... the farm milk tank empties out and since the driver is NOT paying attention the pump continues to run. the pump has a rubber impeller, product must be going through the pump or the pump gets hot and the impeller starts eating itself. this will fill the connector pipe with rubber fragments. if you dont dissemble the pump, replace the impeller, and clean the connector pipe you will pump this crap right into the tanker..... load will arrive at the plant, receiver will notice the black specs in the milk and the load is now trashed, rejected and a full loss...... it gets dumped in the lagoon. spilled milk at the farm makes a mess and pisses the farmer off. i would rather be good friends with my farmers then have them loath me.

no consequences really befall the drivers, the milk haulers have a hard time getting replacement drivers. still there is a right way to do things, and a wrong way..... i dont want to be an @##hole in the seat. why even bother loading a trailer if it will just get rejected. know how long it takes to load a trailer and pay attention.

i believe those are known as cam-lock type hose fasteners. when i was younger i worked in the wash bay at R.conley trucking, and we had those types of hoses. generally speaking those types of hoses and gaskets arent used in dairy..... i believe its because milk could get behind the gaskets and cause bacteria issues.
