That I understand... even though I am in a car now, I do take the time to pass a truck and give them plenty of space. If I see they are in a tight spot and need to slide out I will back off to let them. It was just this driver had no concept of what he did. I could have cleaned his trailer lights if I had some windex. If in a car or truck situation awareness should be on the top of the driving list.

Oh come on, now - I said if I haven't been able to - that doesn't mean I never shower.

But honestly, how dirty do you get when sitting on your * behind the wheel of a truck? I hardly sweat, I keep my hair short, I brush my teeth, but I don't feel the need to shower every day. When you've been driving 700 miles for the day, and have 10 hours to sleep, I can sleep 9-10 hours if I had wanted to, but sometimes you're just warn out and don't feel like getting out. Sometimes, you end up having to sleep at a rest area, or a small mom and pop that are closed at night, or some giant place where it's a quarter mile walk.
I get my fuel at Pilots and Flying J's, sometimes there just isn't room to park where you want, so I take a parking spot where I can find one.

And no, my truck doesn't stink, I keep my living quarters nice and tidy as well.

So if you're telling me you shower every day, either your company is not working you enough, so you're getting 400 miles a day, and have the time for it.

Anyways, I think it's totally stupid that a couple of you are blasting me for showering 3-4 times a week, when you darn well know that that is part of the nature of the job. And please note my original post - I DID happen to mention that I will stop in the middle of my shift, in the middle of the day, to take a shower when I can find a parking spot at the places where my showers are free, and at a time when I know that they will actually have no waiting time for one.

So please quit trying to turn what I said inside out to make me out to be some kind of nasty sleazebag.

And no, I don't use E-logs, never will, and no I don't think showering is a waste of time.

I'm getting a little tired hearing about showers as well. Not all of us are fat smelly slobs. I pull a box. I sit in the ac all day. Every other day or so is just fine.

I agree and shower every 3-4 days. No u can't smell me or my truck, never had anybody say it to me, even friends I've met on the road. I'm not paying for a shower, hardly stop at pilot or flying j to park at night BC some reason that's everybody's favorite to fill up first. And I have stopped in a shift when time permits to shower. I'm not a sleezebag either, I don't get dirty nor do I sweat. If I have a free shower then ill use it when I do park at said locations. Sometimes I park at customers, rest areas, or no name truck stops. And if I'm still not to the hygiene standards of ttr oh well. I travel through Gary and Chicago all the time. Sometimes I hang back and other times I do 5 MPH over. I follow the flow of traffic to a certain extent. I hate tailgating, to paranoid or hitting anyone and its rude. I hate when people do it to me in a car much less a truck. And I do have elogs and a slow ### governed truck yay why that matters Idk

Preach, driver! Preach. These drivers get more humorous with each post. He obviously cannot stop to practice proper hygiene, because his truck is too slow. A lot of the slower trucks (not trying offend any newbies; e-loggers; and drivers that are un-naturally fond of their companies, in more ways than one), will intentionally and un-necessarily pull in front of a much faster truck, that is about to overtake them. What is the deal with that?

Come on driver! How can you run the road, and not have $10-$15 to pay for a shower? I have no problem paying for a shower, nor should you.

Then I predict your career will be short-lived, as e-logs are on the way as a mandate (just my prediction, based upon the whims of our illustrious government over its long history).

Maybe so. I will not be trucking at that point. So it really makes no difference.
