My experiences weren't that bad, but I'll tell u. I had a co-driver with more exp than me that I did not get along with. But before that...I had a trainer that would PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL TO STOP FROM 10TH GEAR!!!! How do u TRAIN somebody and NOT downshift??!! I didn't learn much from him or run with him long, however. THANK GOD!!

I was the original poster of this post back on 12/20/07. I'm suprised that it still goes on. To update you, I did finish the training period of five weeks (was out closer to six). Took my 2 days off then returned on my report day and told them I was not interested in working for them at this time. Of coasre they asked why, I told them that I wasn't ready to go OTR. Although I finished my training period my trainer did not teach me enough to be on my own. ie very little backing time - he would say this is a dificult back I'll do it. I'll handle the paper work wait here. He did let me do the pre trips and clean the windows etc. Anyway things turned out great as I got a local job driving mon thru fri 50 hours a week. Thanks TO every one responing to the post. If anyone is in a similar situation-- FINISH THE TRAINING-- by the way the company name isn't important because there are bad trainers in every trucking (as well as non-trucking) companies.
