    "Eagel" is spelled "Eagle"
    "Layed" is actually spelled "laid".
    "then" should be "than"
    "erks" is actually spelled "irks"
by "dp" I assume you mean "do"?
Contraction words need an apostrophe. (ie: Don't rather than Dont)

:biggrin_25525:Sorry to hear about your experience. They give us a bad name, but... We can listen to ya vent and hope ya feel better, but.. Aside from a grammar correction, there's not much anybody can do for ya.

The best course of action would be to look up his company and call them, ask for safety and give them every detail you've got.. Ie: Location, time, direction, truck description, and truck number (if you've got it) Unit#'s are as useful as license plates at identifying a particular rig. The safety guys can pull up his Qcomm (if he has one) and verify if he was there when you say... It's them up to them as to what to do.

First, let me say that most truck drivers are safe and polite. However, now and then there is a loose cannon on the road endangering all of us. Two weeks ago I was on Hiway 40 heading east to Needles, CA. A semi pulled up behind me in the fast lane. I had to do 80 MPH to keep him off my bumper. I pulled over to the slow lane as soon as I could find a break in the traffic. That truck passed me like I was standing still. He had to have been going at least 90 miles an hour. Oh, and the truck was completely unmarked. No lettering on the side. I called 911 but doubt they ever caught the driver. What is up with drivers like that?:biggrin_25513:

PS: I am a relative of a good truck driver. Not a driver myself.

Too bad you didnt call the cops, they could have possibly come and found you, observed the situation, and if bad enough they would have hauled his butt to jail.

    My suggestion:

    1. Drop it, let it go and get on with life. Nothing to be done now. That guy was a dick, and gives the rest of bad names. Had I been in the area, I would have called the cops for you.

    2. Next time (God forbid) start gently slowing down. He either has to run you over and kill you, or hit his brakes. Slow down to about 20mph, he's got no choice to do so as well unless he's committed to killing you. Once you've slowed down to 20mph with this fool on your rear bumper. Accelerate like crazy, a semi cant keep up with the slowest of 4 wheelers. Find the nearest off ramp, and get off the road. Wait for him to get down the road for a few minutes. He cant follow you down a side street.

    3. Get tag number (its on front bumper) call the cops, call his company. More than likely they'll stomp mud holes in him, especially if they get a call from the local highway patrol.

Lastly, do you think its possible you cut him off in traffic at a previous point on your trip? Happens to me all the time, and the 4 wheeler never has a clue they even did it. I am not making excuses for this guy, he was a jerk. Just trying to get you to think about anything you could have done to set him off.

Your Dad is right, you need to drop it, learn from the experience and get on. His poor driving habits will get him in a lot of trouble someday, those things have a way of coming around to bite people in the butt eventually.

In the future, should you encounter another driver behaving like that, try and get a company name on the door of the truck, the color and what type of trailer is hooked. Just pull over, and disengage from the issue. It takes two to tango, and you are in no position to rumble with something 23 times your vehicle weight.

Call 911 and say that a rig is driving aggressively/recklessly, and give them as much information as you can recall. If you do see him pulled over, stop and attest to the police what he did to you - he may be trying to talk his way out of a ticket, and you can avert that.

Many of us, if not most of us consider ourselves true professionals and conduct ourselves accordingly. When I see another semi driving like an idiot, I call 911 myself and report him. I would rather make one enemy than see a family get killed because a few people who possess CDL's have to act like a spoiled 7 year old with a 80,000 lb. rig.

CSA2010 will make quick work of weeding out butt-holes like the one you encountered. Many of us drivers are adamant against aggressive and bullying driving.

Personally, if a rig wants to do 100mph on a desert road at 2AM, and he ain't bothering anybody, more power to him. But fill the highway up with non-professional drivers, and it's a different story.

When you see a guy driving like a professional, smile, wave and let them know you appreciate it. We always enjoy that.

    Best wishes. :biggrin_25525:

Anyone telling you to engage this situation by hitting your brakes or slowing down is not using there best judgement.

Use your mirrors all the time you will see this situation before hand. And prevent a bad situation before it occurs.

Pull into the right lane (which is where you should be on Hwy 44 except for passing anyway) and let them go by.

DPS will not issue a citation on a phone call, they will watch for him. They will watch him but if the driver does not commit an offence in front of officer they probably won't pull him over unless you call it in as a drunk driver or reckless.

If you see them pulled over and stop in order for the other driver to get the ticket you have to be willing to go to court and sign the ticket. Was he too aggressive, probably but 4 wheelers (cars) treat us this way all the time. Normally followed by the finger out the window, so you just got a little taste of what we deal with multiple times per day.
