So i have a questions need some help ! New at this, So i took My Mack to Western Truck Center in Redding CA, for a Turbo issue we had it towed in, as soon as the Turbo went out ! First they installed the turbo with out my knowledge then gave me a bill for over $ 8000, after telling them i was not paying this and asking how can you work on my truck with out letting me know first, then after they lowered it to $ 5700 they took my truck out of the shop and proceeded to force the regeneration on it and caught it on fire ! and then said my truck had an exhaust leak, well not true this truck was in another Mack dealer a week prior to the fire ! then took the turbo out with out my consent, so there is so much going on ! Can anyone tell me what are the steps you have to take after a turbo goes out ? or is there any where i can read it ? but most of all do not Take Your Truck to this shop !!!!!

Don't know what authorization was or wasn't done. But even $5700 is ridiculously overpriced. But when you brake down on the road? Well they screw you.
This is a vid on what to check if you have turbo issues .

i hate to say this. i really do. but this is just another case of a o/o or l/o. that doesn't have the money to fix this said unit. i see it all the time on here. turbo goes out. okay i'll take it to TTR freightliner repair serives Ccll. 4 hours later in the break room. what you mean its $9,300 to put a floor mat in. then the blame game starts. you have to put back money to pay up keep and repairs

I'd be mad at paying $10 for an $1 part. The dollar amount is secondary to the price gouging over what a dealer already overcharges. It's the principal .

I see things from the other side of the looking glass. All I can say is if you think its easy turning wrenches then by all means go ahead and do it yourself.
