Yeah, it's a dirty low trick is right.

But... it you do decide to have a beer at the bar, and don't mention it to anyone (like you should), make sure you pay with CASH. If you pay with plastic, you leave a trail. Highly improbable that the company will catch you, but still... remember the company puts you in the hotel for the weekend. They may have an "arrangement" with the hotel that if the bar runs up any tabs on any of the drivers, that the bar is to notify the company.

That said, if you really can't stay away from having a beer for the few weeks you are out training, perhaps you need to think about if you have a problem or not.

I am sorry. That mah have been misleading... we were parked at a truck stop for our 10 hour reset.. she nad her brother and boyfriend meet her there.. and then let them in the truck.. there wasnt 4 in the truck sleeping.. i was in the top bunk a sleep, when she, her brother her boy firend all got knto tne truck.. talking and laughing just having a good ol time.. It obviously woke me up and I at first suggested they go into the truck stop and vjskt so I could sleep.. she responded snidly that it was her truck and she will have whoever she wants in it whenever she wants...

That was when I got down from the bunk and we got into it.. and I said.. this is the #### that makes me want to ##### slap you.. she recorded it on her phone... but had erased what was before and after the staement..

There was no one at safety that blamed me for being so upset with the situation and I did not get in anh trouble... she however did..

Just don't drink in your truck. I remember a thread on here several years ago of a Swifty who was pounding a few back in his truck at a truck stop and was dumb enough to brag about it on the CB. Some busybody called the police on him and they arrested him.

Some people sure are stupid.Thats like playing Russian rulette with your job.I don't drink but could care less what ppl do as long as they're not anywhere near their trk or close to coming back on duty.Just leaving the smell and alcohol behind.

Was this trainer giving the student problems....there is no mention of it til the student makes a stupid choice to break Werner's company policy. I know there are bad trainers out there , but there are also bad students....folks that think they are supposed to hand-held through the process , and never told that they're wrong ( read into this bad parental training)...Seems like the student was just as much in the wrong here as the trainer. If the student was having so many problems with this trainer , then they should have been addressed long before the student messed-up in this particular situation. I really don't see this as a trick either...the student was well aware of the policy and should have left the alcohol alone....can't always blame the trainer.

I'm glad I've been driving so long now, if I had to go through the BS some of these students go through they would probably find a trainer or two duct taped to a stop sign, followed by me being thrown in a cell. All I can say to some of these students going through this crap, is CYA, cover your #####. Now that the Mega's are installing camera's in their trucks, I would consider getting a digital recorder that is small enough to hide on you. If there is a camera in your truck you have already surrendered your right to privacy, so I don't beleive you would be violating any privacy or wiretapping laws (I am not a lawyer, I could be wrong). That way when one of these power tripper trainers tell you something wrong or outrageous you will have it on tape. I will say this, if you drop me off at a hotel for a couple days so you can go home and enjoy your time off, if I wanna go out and have a couple beers, I'm going to do it. According to the logs the FMSCA tells us to fill out, I am off-duty, so it is none of their business. Just don't be a moron and post pics or brag about it on the Internet. I guess next there will be a policy of no hookers or lot lizards in the room with you, because if you get the clap it's going to affect your ability to drive.
