Listen to the weather channel on the radio with the computerized people. they will let you know which mile markers have severe weather near them. You are in charge of your truck and if it is not safe to drive, don't. I have ridden all over this country and dodged lots of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and even blizzards and nothing is worth your life. If your dispatcher gives you a hard time, call Safety. Your dispatcher will probably try to push you but go over them. We were almost blown off the road with 44,000 lbs of beef in the trailer in Iowa and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It was a straight line wind and it caught us just right. Talk about feeling small. You are the captain of your ship. Be safe. The weather is not a joke, or anything to toy with. If you don't agree, go watch the youtube video of the tractor trailer going off the side of Donners Pass. God bless them.

    That's funny right there!

Define bad weather. I've driven through a bunch of it. Some times unwillingly because there was no place to pull over and park. Some times because I figured if I just took it slow, like other drivers on the road, and just was a lot more cautious I could get through it. If I can find a place though, I'd just as soon park it.

The chances of surviving are much greater if you were to chug pickle juice.

If you see a tornado, grab your camera.

I guess reactions to bad weather depends on where you grew up. I grew up in Northwest Missouri, so weather just happens here. My neice and nephews grew up in up state New York and moved here and the first time the tornado sirens went off, they ran to the basement. I ran to the front yard with my camera.

When yer driving, the decsion is yours to make. Is getting the load delivered worth more than your life?

Think I'll take the pickle juice and don't follow the Fed Ex guys.
