thats a good question bigblue19 Ive asked that same question and the jury is still out to lunch on that one. Not that Im going to give in yet without explanations, but I rather be getting paid making an ### groove on the driver seat than not being paid making an ### groove on my couch. But Im still looking into, being barely a month on my own though I need to step carefully yet.

Im also thinking that it depends on the exp. that you come with joining the company.

Well another poster pointed out that the .352 per mile was a company average if you include all Accessorial pay like mileage, fuel, benefits etc..

So I guess at Werner you would have to be specific and ask what is my actual pay before the subjective pay that I may get if I make through all the hoops.

Not sure where these numbers are coming from to be honest. Again, it may all be contract related numbers.

OTRs will make the lowest amount per mile, always. And they are split scaled on pay depending upon miles, and of course loaded/empty/bobtailin.

Different accounts pay different. Some are more, some are less. Some are no touch (99%), some are driver unload (i.e. Dollar General, or any tire account)

How new drivers are making $0.35 per mile in their first year, is that after six months, they become trainers. That is how they are doing it.

Other half was on the Sears account when Werner had West Coast. Other half said he never ever in four years on that account, had to wait more than three hours. He said on average it was about 60-90 minutes.

Of course, the West Coast Sears account was pretty famous or infamous, depending on your POV, when it was around... :D

From Werner's website. And we are not taking about dedicated. I am talking about your basic 48 state OTR driver which Werner says pays .352 per mile average with 0-1 years.

All I am saying is that most company's do not include accessorial pay since that pay is subjective. If it says .35 per mile then that is what they pay you, Anything else is accessorial. Fuel bonus, longevity, production, extra mileage etc..

I called a recruiter at Werner and they did not differenchiate mileage pay with accessorial pay. That to me is deceptive.

I hear on the Sears, I did a load one and they took about 8 hrs to unload me. Almost as if one piece by one. Again Im really not complaining since I am getting paid to work.
Also have to start somewhere since I am still new to this ind.
