Went for an alignment, and came out with multiple bad joint and slip yoke…
So apparently the yoke needs to be cut out and replaced, because the cap on the joint are shiny. The first picture show the shinny one, the second picture show another joint that’s not shiny, and show the difference between one that’s good and a bad one.

The cap is spinning in the yoke and they are correct, both should be replaced. Normal procedure would be all new u- joints and rebalance the entire shaft.

You can’t put some “loctite” and fix it ?

I just find it really expensive, for something so benign. I understand it’s bad but…. How come no other options exist? Maybe shims around the yoke… it’s really awful

They told me, if I replace the joint only, in 6 months I’ll have same thing. So the yoke needs to come out. Problem is when they came to the 2nd shaft. Both ends needs to be replaced, so….they’ll make a new one, because if they try to fix mine, it will end up a little bit shorter and it will not be ok, because of carrier bearing, and all that. $1500

You could pull the joint and peen the inside of the yoke, and install with a new strap kit. Would last a while. It's one of those things that you have a little time on.

It's probably not causing an immediate issue, even left as is. On the list of things that gotta be fixed RFN, it's down there

The middle shaft in the picture needs both ends.
