That video makes me wonder why someone would want to hear radio traffic from long distances, except perhaps when off-duty, bored and nothing better to do.
But when working on the road on a schedule to deliver a load and using the radio to help accomplish that mission, who the hel! would want to put up with such confusion?Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
The DSP Speaker allows me to pull coherence from chaos. I’ll be pulled over on the shoulder 5-miles or more earlier than guys around here with otherwise identical “good” tested systems. You’ll be wondering why I was there until a little too late.
Atlas in hand and using GPS. Asking locals about an alternate route, as:
1). Highway is closed ahead. Fatalities. 9-miles and growing.
2). Everyone else desperate for alternate.
I don’t want what either has. Backed up on Interstate or crawling along a side road with 400 other trucks.
A). I recently took a two hour break at THE LAST truckstop before a road closure. Woke up after lunch and a nap and it had disappeared.
B). A few months ago I ran the southern alternate route around a closed Interstate problem while all others deviated north. They’d have had to do a U-turn across the median to drive back to my route.
And, don’t knock entertainment. There’s nothing like rock haulers describing the latest antics of their brother driver, Skeeter, who the boss fires twice per year, every year, to brighten up a cloudy morning.
But they’re not on the same road. Several miles off another direction.TheRATT, Meteorgray and Intothesunset Thank this. -
