You'll never see one on any of my vehicles....It's a Predator 10K, or nothing....but that's just me...I like being able to talk to everyone I can hear regardless of how far off they might be...

They are decent. You want one at least 5ft long. Longer is better. I'd rather have the 10k.

Better than nothing. A placeholder. I’ll take SKIPSHOOTER over it every time.

Will replacement justify $25? Does for me.

They're fine. The longer the better. A friend of mine prefers it over the Predator 10k.

I wouldnt put a 10k on a cascadia over a 6 or 7ft skip shooter....If i were running a older classic style oe even a newer style with big mirror arms then i would go 10k...Depends on the trk your in and mount position..

Hate to say it bro, but you're wrong.

CB Radio Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Marine Radio Systems - VHF or 27Mhz?

CB is line of sight 99.9% of the time. Only rare instances of atmospheric propagation will change this.

Oh one other thing, being a HAM radio operator I have access to bands that most people do not. This includes the 2 meter band that you can use to talk to the international space station. They have a radio on the space station and many people have contacted them with a 5 watt handi-talkie standing in their driveway as it flies over. Now keep in mind its 250 miles up doing 17,000 mph.

Again. You don't need power. You need height.

Sorry dude, your links don't support your position.

The first one has nothing about line of sight, the second applies to water based vehicles where there is little ground wave activity possible.

Cb is still hf, it is within the spectrum that depends on the relationship with the earth to be useful. Unlike vhf and uhf, hf propagates with those factors involved that I mentioned where as vhf isn't effected by them or is very little.

Now if you want to argue the point, I have more than like to websites with hacked over information on them to back me up but I do recommend you read about how hf works to get a good background on it.

With my 138 XLR, I can hear Bob's CB shop (exit 70) clearly, from the 101. 31 miles.

I'm considering running a K-1-27...on another 27" shaft, for a total of 54". I suspect it would do better than my Franken-Tenna now... which does better than my 7' Firestik all around, and spanks the #### out of my 102 on the groundwave... but, the 102 is the only thing I have that will get me on the skywave. Hence why I want to try the Predator on a "WTF" length shaft...
