They have been using Bio fuel for years and the fuel system should be clean by now, a Davco fuel filter is the very best we use to use the 2 micron filter cartridge and got a lot of miles on them at least two services, and the nice thing about them is you know that the filter is dirty but even when it is fully covered the restriction is still less than a standard filter, with 1/2 the miles.

So Baldwin is the superior filter with greater surface area ?

I recently installed a FASS on my Cat and have decided on FG filters for it and haven't had any issues with my last 2 25000 mile service intervals. I was under the impression that Baldwin was sort of a " budget filter ", but really haven't been able to determine anything solid either way.

I've found some great oil filter comparisons through sites like Bob is the oil guy and would love to see something similar for diesel fuel filters. They would test them thoroughly and take them apart stretching out the filter media comparing materials and construction quality. Quite thorough.

I prefer a Baldwin for my application, BF1223. I actually had a Fleetguard come apart on me last year, so no more for me. I'm thinking of putting on a Davco if I keep this truck, as having the filter up on the radiator was pretty stupid on Western Star's part. Which one should I get, and will it completely the fine filter on the engine block as well?

That says it's good for up to 400hp. If you've seen Rebel, I doubt that will work.

I was at 430 HP before I saw him.

I am leaning at putting on a second DAVCO though only with a fuel heater on it.

It's -11 on the way to -22 tonight here.
