Fruit in general is much better to eat as the fiber allows a slow release of the fructose, compared to a smoothie, personally I fast for like 14 - 16 hours per day I don't eat after 2:30 pm till around 7 am the following day as a result my blood sugar goes right down it is not all over the place which can result when a person is constantly snacking on processed carbs, however fruit will also do it but is a much better option compared to eating processed carbs and sugars. Even Honey is healthier while still containing the same carbs as a teaspoon of sugar it will not spike blood sugar as high due to its lower glycemic index. While the Health care industry{which should really be called the sick care industry} does not what to openly say this, issues with blood sugar such as diabetes can be contained and even prevented by simply eating a diet free of highly processed carbs, such as cane sugar, corn syrup, potato chips, corn chips, pasta, bread, cake, cookies, candy, cereal, crackers, ice cream, flavoured milk, soda, sports and energy drinks. Carbs in small amounts are fine in general the average person needs between 180 - 250 g of carbs per day for energy. Once we start eating over this amount we start putting on those extra lbs and it also increases blood sugar levels, which can eventually lead to diabetes.
