New driver here. Anyone have thoughts on why there is so many spots open at pretty much every rest stop along I-80 and I-90. These stops are typically packed all times of the year after 5pm. Not that I’m complaining, but I just thought it was a strange thing to see after seeing it the past couple weeks doing runs Idaho to New York.

Ya!!! Real truckers sit in a truck stop while I 80 is shut down. Of course if you want to set yourself apart then park on an on ramp during a whiteout. You be revered.

Due to a serious budget shortfall, Wyoming has closed several rest areas, and plan to close several more. This was announced back in June and began in late July. Once winter arrives, they may reopen a few of them.
