So i gots me a problem here. I just picked up this end dump and it is diffrent then any style i have ever used before. Usually when i have one with a barn door you just unlatch the sides after you pin it and tug. I cant find any releases at the top aside from the two side latches. However the lease place says its barn door ready i just need to unlatch the sides after i pin the side door and it should swing. I saw them swinging it on a video call too before i picked it up so i KNOW its posible but i am stumped on how to actully do it. Help an idiot out here?

Can you post a picture straight on of the rear of the tailgate? Like you said it should be unroll tarp, pin the side, unlatch the locks and swing. There’s not another gravy lock secured somewhere is there? Sometimes those will swing back over on me. You have the hinges and the tailgate chain it should be doable. At least it looks like it’s set up to be doable.

Sure, and nope i looked and unless theres one uptop i am somehow missing none are catching. And i even checked to see if my handle is somehow catching when i roll the tarp. so im sitting here 10 kinds of confused.

Like i said before i signed on the line the lease place did a video of it and i watched him just yank the door and it swung open so i know it barn doors. Im just flumexed on how they did it because they said i just need to unlatch the sides, pin the door release the air latch and yank. Hell i even tried to pop it with a crowbar incase it was jammed.

Does it have a safety lock that only disengages when trailer brakes are set.

IMO, it’s your pin. The pictures aren’t great, and my theory might not explain well over the interweb, as you swing your door the upper edge (flat bar on the top of your pin) looks like it’s not only hitting your trailer wall but also your tailgate, you need to use, or at least I do, a bow end for your pin.

It also looks to me that it’s a barn door only set up, unless there’s a pin in the upper passenger side of the door. My Mac has a release handle to engage and disengage the two dump styles, check that as well, that there isn’t a pin in the upper passenger side of the tailgate.
