I grossed $9925 in the last 7 days (my new personal best) on ~3300 miles. But this is Christmas season... I suspect I'd be lucky to gross $6,000 for this same week in February.

I never called anyone a liar, I know a lot of owner operators who are leased to some big companies most of them pull flatbeds and they don't bring home 3 and 4 grand a week, most in the 2k range, when I say 2k range it may be 2500 or 2000, but for those who do bring 3 and 4k home every week good for you, ive just never know any o/o to do it week end and week out, ok more haters chime in

Or have enough dumb luck to happen upon them unknowingly (that's what happened to me where I leased at for 3 years after buying a truck.

I am just trying to find out where the money is at lol
) trying to get ahead of things and look at every side of things and learn to get ahead... I am going to give this company a little bit more time If it isn't working out I guess I need to move on.... If I can atleast make 2500 after tolls and fuel I would be happy with that and home every day would be beautiful....

Forget home every day if you want to make money. We (my wife and dog run with me) typically stay out 2-3 weeks then go home 2-3 days. As for proving my net, I'll have to figure out how to hide the info I don't wish to make public. I don't share my loads with everyone. Sorry!
I will say the $4000 I netted last week was on $6500 gross and well under 2000 miles loaded and empty with the 2 being equal and did it in 4 days. This was a temporary gig stocking BB stores in TX out of their DC in OK. Normally I would net more like $2800-$3000 on that gross but my fuel cost was minimal on this.
Last year I did my personal best this time of year hauling US mail overflow and grossed $9700 in a week. Again, a little higher than normal but if you think netting the numbers myself and a few other have stated on a regular basis is BS, it isn't. But you have to work for it and at it. $3.00-$4.00 a mile freight is out there every day. This is dry van. The BB loads were 6.00+ loaded! Flatbed in general pays better.
If you went home for the 4 day holiday weekend like many of you did, I just want to say thank you. That was some mighty expensive turkey you ate cuz you passed on some great pay for it. We stayed out and ran some awesome paying loads. We'll go home when it's dead. That's part of being a truck driver if you want to be successful and make the big $$$. Certain times of the year are hot. Take advantage of it and go home when it's not.techslave and double yellow Thank this. -
To sit there and say you can't make money and be home often or even every weekend is just flat out lying. Everybody's situation is different it's great that you enjoy making money nobody can fault somebody for that. Sorry I've got 2 kids that I come home to. I'll happily stick with the money I make and my hometime. I make more than enough to get by.
CanadianVaquero, techslave and rebeloutlaw66 Thank this.
