There is no reason you can't stop and use a bathroom. If you can't take a few minutes a day to use the bathroom there is something wrong.
Red Hot Mess Thanks this. -
We don't know which Co. you work for but i'm sure that there are standards set up for the trainers as well as the students for sure...You should always stop every 2-3 hrs on the road anyway to stretch a little and to give the trk and trlr a quick look at.Most Co's require it anyway...The worst thing you can do right now is fall into some bad habits from a bad trainer...There's a lot a great advise here from guys who have seen a lot on the road...Basically you have but 2 choices,Get another trainer or just suck it up for the rest of your training with the troll.....It's up to you
Btw, most of us have very clean trucks inside and out and I don't even wear shoes in my bunk area and I cook most of my meals so that i'm not always eating junk food...Good luck............pjay and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -
NO it does not have to be that way, its what she does, her methods. Some drivers do nothing but fast foods, some cook, some do both.
choice it up
I do carry a portable on board in case of emergency's. use is rarepjay Thanks this. -
I ran with a gal that insisted that I do not pull out my unit inside the truck, but in order to keep moving i would brace myself in the sleeper to do my thing in a bottle with a large opening and a tight cap, then store it straight up in my duffel bag and sneak it out in a brown paper bag. Now on the other hand, I ran with a guy that insisted that we do our driver change while the truck was moving doing Dedicated for O.D. Los Angeles CA. To Denver CO. This was a real pain for me mentally but i did it anyway, due to the fact that he was the lead driver and I had legal issues pending back at home that my lead knew about. Now all that said, and all the s _ _t I had to go though, just to take a P_ SS, I would say the best thing to do is to stop at a safe place that has a rest room. Splash some cool water an your face and stretch your legs out, you will feel better at the end of the day. I feel Ya, you Might need to get off her truck ASAP. Good Luck !
pjay Thanks this. -
"doing the driver change while truck is moving"...........insane.
NDBADLANDS and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -
either some of you talking about 2 liter bottles have really small...ya, or really good aim. its all about the Gatorade bottle for me.
In regards holding it in and/or peeing outside. wonder how the trainer would like it if you got a 5 gallon bucket, and used that IN the cab...might make her rethink making you go in an unsanitary place. Just saying... -
I have ridden along with a friend who is a truck driver, and he would ask me almost every hour if I needed to stop and use the restroom. He is a company driver.
I start training school Monday and only pray for sane people to surround me!
I am sorry you are having problems! -
/sounds like ur trainer is old school! yes, that is how we used to do it.......but.....the times are a changing and we don't live live heathens anymore.
-
Wow thats crazy I would tell them pull over where there is a restroom If they didnt I think I would just pee on them and see how they liked that.. And for peeps to say "deal with it" "its just part of paying your dues" "your only in training for a short time" Thats just as stupid as your trainer not respecting you and stopping...."peeing in a bottle in your truck thats nasty".......
I would be calling the company you work for
