not to mention, that every time a rig stops, it takes like what 10 minutes or so of time to get it back up to cruising speed?? (the average company trucks)

You just stop at rest area or truck stops. Maybe a bottle for those cold or raining nights. Or if parked in back row of parking lot.
That's funny video about piss jugs. Ha ha

  5. thanks sometimes it has to be said..
I'll never forget one young girl incomplete tears who pretty much did everything right about 1998 but her biggest problem was starting on a hill and not killing the engine or breaking the drivetrain...
lot of people that have never driven a stick shift car have that problem they can get going on flat ground but you get them on a huge downgrade one they're afraid of letting off the brake and ending up backing up into a car because they're unsure of themselves, they're afraid of damaging the equipment and ruining their possible new Trucking career by revving it up too much letting out the clutch and dropping a drivetrain or screwing up the rear end..
haha I did that when I first started. luckily it was only one spider gear that I screwed up two days in a hotel with the trainer and learned but he stuck me in that old 359 Pete not quite knowing what I was doing sitting out there at a stoplight out in the west Texas near El Paso.. and on a slight grade I let out the clutch and revved it a little too much and boom drop the shaft and one of the spider gears in the rear end....
but back to the other story of the young trainee what I basically told her is what I learned from a great trainer myself the second one the first one wasn't worth a hill of beans I got a second trainer with the company I was with and he taught me the two second rule..
which is basically you have two seconds to get that truck moving from the time you let the clutch out and learn where the breaking point or friction point is to gently start the truck moving....
so why she was clearly visibly broken up and shook apart I took her trainer and her and we went to the end of the parking lot that had a huge incline to get out and I said I I train occasionally when the urge strikes me and I feel like taking out a student with this company not very often it's by my choice but I'm going to show you how to get the truck moving on an incline and it will work every single time no matter how steep the grade learning to not let the clutch out too fast with the brake on from a stop but the remember to bring it to the friction point and then proceeded to let off the brake so by the time your foot is coming off the brake the clutch is coming out at the same time and the truck is moving...
I also told him there's no need to blow up at her because she's new you on the other hand need to learn how to train and stop being a dick... you have to have patience.
needless to say the steak dinner was bought for me by him once he realized and he had had the same problem the problem that he didn't have because he driven a stick shift and had stick shift cars... so getting rolling was no problem at all...
I only had one student that had a little bit of trouble and what we did because we hadn't gone out west to really hit a lot of Hills I basically taught him by going to the shop borrowing the parts truck and I taught him how to basically get the thing rolling on a nice Hill he killed it a couple of times but then he got the idea..
so we decided to bobtail do a hill and get that thing going and he did really good..
so that's the difference when you want to really be a trainer from back in the day and the way you were taught..
again what I find nowadays are greedy trainers that are only out for money that's been going on for many many years but also not training people the right way..
but then again when you have some of these companies where you're driving less than a year and you're allowed to be a certified trainer WTF really?? that's where I've referenced the term more than once the blind leading the blind around is what it amounts to to me...
but again thank you for your compliment and I had no choice the more I kept reading and seeing the retorts coming back I'm like now you know you asked a legitimate question that's what this is for asking new people not to sit there and slam you back and forth... like some of these DMFS were doing..

  6. John the IBS Club..
I only have it mild but that's another reason why when I shut down for the night unless it's a dire emergency I don't park on the side of the road to also another reason why I prefer to 70 bucks on the side of each week for parking now and I'll have to pay if I want to be safely secured if it's after 2 in the afternoon..
which I don't mind doing I scratch off more in lottery tickets by the week than that but that's one thing that I decided to do last year and it works really good every week I put 50 to 75 bucks in an envelope sometimes there's another fifty to seventy-five bucks in the envelope if I luck out and find parking.
sometimes at the end of the week there's twenty bucks left till the following week.. another 50 goes in and. That way when I need to find a place to park knowing I'm safely securely parked and have a bathroom I have no trouble at all I don't get reimbursed but I don't really care it's by my choice only.
also hadn't been lease to landstar for just under 10 years before I sold my last trucks in 2010 is the fact that I learned about sitting duck and how fast you can lose your lease and I never did that intentionally and I still don't .
the last time I actually breaked 10 on a ramp was in the winter time when it was just so greasy in the truck stop was full and I didn't want to drive so I just lined up behind a bunch of other trucks other than that is a rule I have no problem paying the park I make enough money to where I don't have to worry about...

Dont sweat the small stuff, taking a leak is part of the small stuff, the rest don't lose any sleep over it either, just handle it as it comes up.

It all has a way of working itself out. Sleep habits are also individual, I personally try to park by 14:00, I want to be running at midnight, I find it better to drive while most are sleeping.

Things to remember for new drivers, we were all new drivers at one time or another.

Most of what hear in truckstop is a complete fabrication.

You can go down a hill to slow many times, but to fast only once.

Leave room in front of you its the only area of the interstate you control, Following distance will save your life, everything about safety is about buying the time not to die today. Use it.

Use the clutch thats what its in there for, dont be a cowboy about shifting its not a Challenger, its a truck.

And above all stay safe to odds of making it to tomorrow increases, but never guaranteed.

Please feel free to add things they should really be concerned with, peeing is not it.

Peeing is all I was asking about , I have already asked questions about other things......
But yeah safety is about buying time not to die but basically I was just asking if you are dying for a pee

Just stop at a rest area and go. Its not big deal. Trainers have to go to the bathroom too. Ive never had one get mad because I had to go. If youre really worried just dont drink a ton of water while youre driving
