My 2008 ProStar was like that, one section was missing 10" of jacket. I found quite a few pieces like that, from the factory, all of the wire was green throughout, it was scrap. I replaced all of the cabling, over 100 feet of the stuff. I used welders cable, copper. I took the pieces I removed up to a local truck, AG, repair shop that had the cable in stock. They measured to correct length and had the correct tool to crimp on the ends.

If I were you, I would do the same. I was having electrical issues and after replacing that cable, they went away.

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

If you do not replace, you are going to have issues down the road, possibility for fire too. Replace the cable and install it correctly.

It's probably not the cable but just the terminal junction.use some baking soda and a brush to clean the terminals.

For sure, I can't see what you have there, so if you feel they are beyond cleaning then do what you feel is right.

I looked at one of those, I was tempted, but the guys up at the shop had one and did not charge me. Those crimpers are nice though. One thing, you are probably good to Spring to do this, make sure you can squeeze under the truck! LOL! Mine sits to low, and has a lift axle, I can't get past my chin... I even built a foot tall set of ramps, still difficult. I used my thin as rail 90 pound 6 foot tall nephew to hang everything under there. Not fun, a pit would make the job easy. Good luck.
