BD69: The Owner Operator Chronicles

Back out on the road. Setting in Wilson, NC waiting on a load of castings headed to Frankfort, IN.

Had so much happening at home that I needed to get back out to get some rest. One of Dad's life insurance policies should pay on the next couple weeks and that'll pay off this truck. Going to bring the truck back to NC to put it to work with a company running south of 40 and east of 35. Much better paying freight and a much larger percentage...sort of a win/win for me. I'll also start the process to get my own numbers. Once the estate settles out, I'll most likely buy another truck and a couple trailers, probably 53' dovetailed stepdecks.

I'll keep y'all up to date.

Well, I'm in Frankcort, Indiana waiting to be unloaded tomorrow morning. Then I'm headed to Fort Wayne for a load back to the yard and hopefully something a little more lucrative than what I e been yanking lately.

Have to admit that I'm having trouble staying motivated right now. Can't seem to clear my head and get back in the groove. Meh, tomorrow is another day.

At the yard. On my way to Sharonville, OH, then deadhead back to Frankfort, IL for a load back to Lincoln, NE. Getting down to the end of pulling for Morehouse. Ready to really strike out on my own. If anyone out there is looking for a good, straight up company to pull for, I can't think of anyone better to steer you towards.

Setting in Lincoln, my delivery got pushed back 24 hours for reasons that were never really made clear...meh, that's trucking for you. Had a quick bite am going to take a little siesta before meeting a friend later for an early dinner. I'm going to be heading home tomorrow and am going to take a couple weeks off to relax, fish a little and get recharged. Seems like all I've done the last 2 years is either work or bury people. I need a little me time.

Worked out a deal on this truck as well. It's a 95 with a freakshow of a 3406e. Currently rated at 750hp but the build will support up to 1200. Have an outstanding driver lined up to drive my current truck running box/reefer while I go back to real man trucking with a truck that'll pull just about anything.
