I wanted to go to Vegas and have an Elvis impersonator.
Yep, did not happen.

 

Yea pretty much, that or toldto sit down, shut up, and listen very closely, I'll just stay single for a good while.

 

As horrible as it sounds... my wife of 14 years and I decided to get married when her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer for the 3rd time... so she could be there....
Wedding was planned in 4 weeks for $3000. Beautiful venue and service. There was no struggles with which cake or which venue... music, food, Pastor, venue...if it was available it was booked. People talked about how great it was and modeled their wedding after ours.
Her Mom died 2 weeks later. Very heavy emotional time....but easiest planned wedding of all time....
For our 15th anniversary we are planning a renewal of our vows. This time on our terms. She has become my absolute best friend. I trust NO ONE on earth like I trust her. She is the kindest, least judgemental person I have ever met. I can never be as good as a person as she is....
Enjoy the ride.......it’s just money... you can make more....

 

We ended up doing a very simple outdoor wedding. Maybe 15 people all together. Was in a rose garden. Wife had a few weeks to plan it all. Was less than $1500.00 for everything.

Funny thing is, we know people that did the big extravagant wedding. Ask them today about it, they have no clue what took place. Have to get out the big photo albums to remeber events.

 

What a blessing!

 

No wedding … just got married. Went up to Kingsland, GA. Got the blood test at the coffee shop, got the license at the flower shop and was married by the JP at what was probably the funeral home.

Went back to Jax, hit the bars, told everyone we were married and then went to McDonalds.

 

We got married in the back yard out our first home (2 weeks after we closed on it)

Made everyone dress in western style. Wife and father in law rode in on borrowed horses. Justice of the piece on our back porch steps.

We BBQ pork ribs on our neighbors BBQ and a keg of Budweiser.

That was a happy 23 years ago. I don’t think we spent a grand?
