Glad to see this not getting blown out of proportion by either party.

Like I said, Brad Is Brad. I've got nothing bad to say about him, he's a pretty decent guy most of the time. We just have different ambitions and motivations.

So I zipped out this morning after a little snow overnight with trepidation in my heart. Homestake Pass was in front of me and I had visions of horrendous road conditions and a reaquaitance with tire chains but all that turned out to be nothing. It was a little slick in spots but nothing horrible. Stopped back in Sheridan since I can't unload until Friday when I'm going home for three or four days. I do enjoy this country, but I'll be glad to get back to my bed and see my young 'uns.

    More later...

So I ended up having to turn around in Sheridan and come back to Missoula and remove part of the load and replace it with some different material. This was the first time I can recall this happening. Sometimes it pays off not to let on how aggravated you are by something because after a litany of apologies they tossed an extra three grand onto it and set me up to just run the load into Gastonia and drop the trailer for them to unload while I'm home. So all in all it worked out ok, I'm going to easily get under the inbound snowstorm heading into the upper midwest and be home for an extra couple days then resume running steel through SC.

    Hope y'all are doing good.

    More later...

Never let them see you sweat! Now I have a kick name as " Smiley" because I smile so much but.... One time a shipper made a comment about me smiling all the time during the loading process that was just taking forever. I replied to him. Will it help if I ##### and stomp my feet? all that will do is cause more friction. I get more from a smile and sometimes give a candy treat I have in the truck.

They sold it (lease purchase) to their own driver knowing it was a lemon. You don't really think they'd loose sleep over a random joe at an auction do you?

Truth of the matter is I don't really believe they had any clear idea the truck was going to be as big a problem as it ended up being. I've not got anything negative to say about Morehouse, they were, by far, the best outfit I've worked for. I never had to chase my money and on more than one occasion they added money a settlement or two down the line that they got for various reasons that I would never have known about. Even with the mechanical issues I showed a very respectable profit pulling their freight. In the end my circumstances changed so dramatically that I had to sit down and decide what was best for me, my business and my family. It was not an easy decision but in the end it was best for me to move on and start over. I have no ill will towards anyone there and would recommend them to any driver that is fed up with companies trying every which way to screw them over.

Sorry for the silence, got home and found a pipe.leaking under my sink and I've been up to my arse in plumbing and carpentry repairing water damage. Fortunately the damage wasn't to severe so I've just been putting in a couple 14 hour days fixing it all up. Back to the steel wheel come Wednesday morning...time to go make money instead of.spending ir... lol.

You don't have a master shut of valve? Being in trucking thats a must have for a single guy with no one at the house while youre gone.
