Unless I'm wrong, the Midwest winter blend is only good down to -10 and I'm looking at -20 or worse. I'll definitely check out Sapps though. Thanks, Micheal.

If you can get to northern Midwest. We have better fuel, rated for lower than -10.
Up in Minnesota and Wisconsin\Norther Iowa.

I wouldn't treat my fuel from SC to OR this week, unless I plan or get stopped where it gets to single digits. I think that if they don't sell #1 along your route then you're not going to need it.

I would try to stay on the southern end of the cold front on or below I-70 for as long as I could instead of jumping onto I-80. Traffic and delays would worry me more than temperatures.

I'm headed the same direction this week, only supposed to be stupid cold for a couple days, probably only one if we're heading west through it. I keep at least 2 250gall 911 anti gel and a couple spare fuel filters, if its below 20 i keep my truck running and warm fuel cycling through keeps this kosher. Keep tanks at least half full going through the extreme cold too. Good luck.

In case anyone has been freeze dried or doing hard time I'd like to point out it's rather brisk in the midwest. Headed for -8 tonight here at the Oak Grove Petro. Tomorrow's high is going to be a balmy 7. I'm going to hot foot it into @Scooter Jones neck of the woods where it may rain a good bit but at least the Pacific Ocean keeps the temps in check. Going to reload Friday afternoon with a load headed to Winston Salem and after a couple days downtime, I'll be back grinding. Trucks doing great although she is a bit thirsty on the idle. Looking into a good refurbished APU so I can cut that out and add a few comforts to the road. Hope y'all are doing well.

    More later...

There's a fuel station called SPF across from the Love's in Laramie, WY that sells #1. Their #2 is $2.59 a gallon right now also. Once you get past Laramie on your way to Oregon, fuel prices with IFTA factored in are not pretty. I always tried to avoid fueling in Idaho especially.

Yeah, the prices out that way suck, but the load rate is such that the sting is greatly reduced.

It's also like $75 in ODOT road taxes to go to Portland, and unless you go north it's $75 to get back out. That state has some scenery, but I'm glad I don't go there often anymore.
