BD69: The Owner Operator Chronicles

Well, I've been home since early Saturday morning not doing much of anything. Finally getting over that bronchial crap.

Did my annual blood labs yesterday and physical today. Everything looked pretty good, doc said my PSA was a little elevated and wants me to have it checked again in 6 mos.

I talked to him about all the sleep apnea concerns surrounding truckers, etc. He stopped doing DOT's when they came out with all this registry requirement for doctors, too much added bull crap for him.

Anyways, I told him how a DOT doctor tried to steer me towards a sleep test because of my bmi. He laughed and said he's only ever had one trucker patient in all his years of practice that had a "normal" bmi, LOL.

He said if a DOT Physician tries that again, tell them they have to administer an EPWORTH test before they can even recommend anything regarding a sleep study test. I looked up the test, it's a very simple questionnaire.

I've always known I don't have sleep apnea, however, that DOT doc was pushing me in that testing direction. Therefore, I now go for my DOT physical at the same care facility my doctor is a part of. The doctor that did it last year never said anything about sleep apnea. After she was done, I asked her about. She said, "I read your file from Dr. ######... He noted you have no signs of sleep apnea whatsoever."

 

I don't know that truck sounds like a worse weather magnet the you. Lol.

 

I was just reading through our local paper & saw this. Can you say awkward? LOL.

Well here is bs that may make you feel better.. I run up to the port of Wisconsin this morning to have the guard tell me no one unloading coils today. You and two other trucks need to park and get unloaded Friday.
