Thing is this is trucking. It takes a certain attitude, mentality or what ever you want to call it.
Some have it, others, not. That applies to family as well.
They are in it, just a bit of a different way.Broke Down 69, Shock Therapy, Vic Firth and 2 others Thank this. -
Man, I am wore flat and smooth. Ran like a scalded dog today just so i could sleep half the day tomorrow. 96 miles away from a 1500 unload, but from there it goes sideways. My preplan has me running 860 miles, in 27 hours...with 13:11 on my 70 and i don't start grabbing back until Monday. Here's the really groovy part, theres a $100.00 late delivery penalty on this one. Needless to say, I placed a call to dispatch basically asking WTF, only phrased a little more diplomatically. Thought I was about to have to refuse my first load, but I got the consignee's number, called them and worked it all out. I've been playing catch up since I left Omaha and I have to say, it is wearing me down some, but like I said, I can sleep all I want tomorrow.
More later...Airborne, mladen86, Scooter Jones and 4 others Thank this. -
I had never felt so lonely in all my life...
I was determined to position myself where I could have more home time if I continued in this industry. I achieved that goal.
Since, my offspring has produced more offspring, which is an unbelievable blessing to this aging grandpa.
I mean, just take a look at these beautiful little twin granddaughters of mine
