It's just been a sort of screwy week. They happen, but it sure sucks when you're having one.
I did send a message to dispatch that I am not pull a load out of Scheibers again. They are the rudest, laziest most worthless bunch of buttpipes I've had to deal with in trucking up to this point. I was so mad I nearly decked a little mealy mouthed rat trying to tell me how HoS work. I haven't been that angry in years. Screw 'em, I'm done with them for good. -
I never know if I should click the "Thank" button on something like this

Hope your week gets better...
I've been home now for 10 straight days. Gotten real used to it. Might go back to work next week, if I feel like it

If anyone wants to get in touch with their own mortality, do what I did today for hours, namely putting together emergency crisis procedures & directives.
God bless my wife, but she would have no idea what to if I became incapacitated or croaked altogether.
That's one vulnerability of being a solo owner operator who controls every aspect of the operation.
So, I put EVERYTHING on paper with specific step by step processes. Drew up a power of attorney for her and listed every single account with online login(s) and passwords, etc.
Placed them, along with my personal medical directives & will, into a safe deposit box that only she or my oldest son can access with my death certificate or letter from a doctor verifying my incapacitation.
Sounds like fun, eh?

Talk about not knowing whether or not to hit the thank button.
It's just been a hard week. I landed in our weakest dispatcher's zone and ended up flipping my drive/sleep schedule 3 times in five days. I've been up against my 70 for 4 days and then today, I sat in a lot or dock longer than it took me to run the load out. Couple all that with having to deal with a total ### hole and it all comes out to a really tired man just having enough. I'll get a good nights sleep tonight and pick up a load headed for home tomorrow. Of course once I get there, I have a #### ton of stuff to do...taxes, some legal stuff pertaining to my incorporation and trying to get this truck all shined up and pretty again. -
Just got my settlement sheet and it looks much nicer than the last. I'm compiling the percentages now and will have them posted tonight or tomorrow .
Scooter Jones, Shock Therapy, Vic Firth and 3 others Thank this. -
I always get all stressed when I’m bumping up against my clock. Especially my 70. That’s why I don’t do it very often. Not worth it to me unless I’m over $10g for the week. If I’m over that I’ll stress for a few days to get it handled. I still don’t like the way it makes me feel or the way I wind up dealing with the people around me.
I seem to be able to really enjoy myself at about 1700 miles a week for about $5k. Not much to get upset about on those weeks because I’ll make it home on Friday.
No way I could drive 11 hours a day, weeks on end and only getting home once every 3 weeks.
Just shoot me!Broke Down 69, Feedman, BoostedTeg and 5 others Thank this. -
Alot of truth in that. Contrary to popular belief there is still enjoyment to be had in this industry. Just a matter of finding the right ballance. One week I just want to go back to driving nails, and the next I can't believe how lucky I am. Lol
