Anyone ever notice that once you start working on anything mechanical that one thing leads to another and another and so on? Spent all day working on her and now I'm tired, dirty and hungry, but it was one of the most relaxing days I've had in quite some time. Also had the nice side benefit of saving me a couple grand.

Home time can be a two edged sword and it just cut me bad on the back side. Just talked to dispatch and I'm not getting a load out until Thursday morning, then I have to run like a scared rabbit to Indiana from Eastern NC and get there by Friday afternoon or I'll be stuck there over the weekend. So I'll be here for a little longer but that isn't all bad. Going to polish chrome today...it's 60 degrees and not a cloud in the sky...and just get the girl looking like she deserves to look in this weather.

Well, been a little busy. Plan changed and I got a load out on Wednesday...and so began the nightmare. Supposed to have an open load appointment, wrong. Appointment was at 1300...that ended up wasting 6 hours. Ruled out and made it to Glade Springs, VA. Woke up at 0 crap 30 to hit it...snow from there to just outside of Nashville. Ran my clock down to 11 minutes and covered 678 miles. And now I have 260 miles to run by 0800 tomorrow and I can't roll until 0345.
Now it's pretty well known at Morehouse that there is one dispatcher who's area you don't want to get mixed up with, poor planning and no comprehension of what goes on out here, but this isn't their area. For the third straight load from another dispatcher, I've been handed load that was all screwed up from the get go. Wrong times, incorrect addresses and a next to impossible timeline.
Well, crying about it ain't gonna help, but it does make me feel a little better to vent. I'll drop this one off in the morning and pick up the next to Norcross, GA. Get me some more Southern cooking and Moonshine fuel.

I'm still at home. Over three weeks now. I decided it was time to get back to work though. Heading out on Monday for my round tripper.
