Improvement continues. Add in the fact I had 4 days off and it looks better yet.
Deadhead was 9.2% of total miles.
Fuel rose from 21% to 22%. This can be attributed to only getting one tank of fuel at the yard this cycle.
Debt service dropping from 42% to 38%.
Profit rose to 40%.
I'm very pleased with how this cycle worked out. I caught a couple very high paying loads which completely offset home time loss of revenue. Saved myself a good hand full of coins doing some PM myself, along with an oil change and chassis lube.
This coming cycle should be rather interesting as I am doing a lot more 550-750 mile loads. I'm able to turn them over much faster while only burning 1/2 to 3/4 of my fuel per load. These loads obviously pay less but my back of the envelope calculations show them to be much more profitable. Time will tell on that.

An interesting book read years ago was called the haystack syndrome. While it is one of those text books from engineering school, I don’t expect every one to run out and get a copy if it could be found.
Any how, sort of runs along the line of determining what is profitable on a continuous basis and it margin as compared to other things that may be profitable but not so much with regard to the margins and overall adding to the total profit of an operation.
And that was about as clear as mud just about like the book. But the concepts seem to be stuck in my brain. -
Not sure where that was going.
Must of had something to do with continuous improvement. As in thats part of the goal.

Eliyahu M. Goldratt was the author of that book. Now let me be very clear, what I am about to say is in no way anti-Semitic, but Jewish authors could write the most confounding directions on the heating of water that we'd all be taking cold showers from now until the end of time.
So @Espressolane did an admirable job of trying to clearly state the thesis contained in the book.taodnt, Feedman, Shock Therapy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes, it was Goldratt, and have a number of his books.
Solid theories, valid models. The few books that take about 5 or 7 readings to get all the info and concepts in perspective and in your brain.Feedman and Shock Therapy Thank this. -
I'm unloading on this culdesac in Ashland, OR at this specialty soil sales place right next to a Cannabis Club. Since 10 a.m. it's been non-stop come & go traffic.

Some petty mothers raised a fuss and tried to get her disqualified because they aren't supposed to set up in commercial areas. That's such bs, they always set up outside grocery stores.Airborne, austinmike, BoostedTeg and 3 others Thank this.
