I'm not going to give it up, I was in a crappy mood last night and just sort of blurted out something stupid, if blurting is something one can do via a forum.
At any rate, a good night's sleep and a couple decent meals have improved my outlook considerably.
I'm in Plainfield, Indiana trying to get unloaded so I can scoot over to Troy, Ohio to a drop and hook. Long deadhead, but the load pays very well and sets me up for an easy reload to get back to Omaha for the weekend where I hope there's a load waiting on me at the yard. I've been tracking my pay this week and it certainly seems that stacking up these shorter runs is going to be the more profitable than 2 or 3 long runs. I still have two trips to clear payroll and my settlement is already the best yet by more than a grand. Running like this really puts a premium on trip planning and clock management, not just from me but on the dispatch side as well, and the dispatchers at Morehouse are certainly proving able to hold up their end.

Glad to hear that it's shaping up well for you, and definitely glad to hear the mood's improved. It's amazing what good chow will do for morale.

Ain't that the truth. Not having to wake up to an alarm clock was helpful too. Fatigue can sneak up on you.narcolepticltd, Vic Firth, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this.

That it does. I've been feeling that too, on my end, but for different reasons. Working a full day, and then sliding home to do home renovations catches up with you, quick. On the plus side, the upstairs is starting to look pretty nice.HopeOverMope and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

I'm only reading this because DOT is set up in the parking lot where I park with portable scales and I'm over gross by a few hundred pounds. Waiting them out so I can move my truck to the truck stop. Did want to do some work on the old girl but guess that's gone south for the day.Oxbow, Rugerfan and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

Put the boot to her today so I can unload, reload and make it back to Omaha at a decent hour tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to do a 34 before heading back out. Probably not a bad thing, I've been running on caps for awhile now and I'm reall getting strung out on Johnny's, they make one hell of a good piece of beef. Weather permitting, I'll get a little wheel polishing in. If the weather sucks, I'll see if I can pull the old girl in the shop to work on her.
