Yea, unfortunately the guy I’m leased to is very religious so I refrain while at his shop. Now, if I was at home the cooler would be full of iced beverages.Airborne, BoostedTeg, Oxbow and 3 others Thank this.

At least you know how to show respect to a man and his beliefs. This is a disappearing trait these days.Panhandle flash, Airborne, Vic Firth and 9 others Thank this.

Well, the O/O thing got real today. The week I bought the truck #4 injector crapped the bed. Morehouse footed the bill for that one but the writing was on the wall. On my way into the yard the old girl started presenting some familiar symptoms and I figured then I was losing another injector. Sure enough, #3 was laying down on me. Now, there's a fair amount of labor involved in getting to the injectors in the first place and pretty much a lost day with the repair. The idea of doing/paying that 4 more times didn't set to well with me at all.
So...I decided to just eat the bill and swap out all five injectors now. It's not going to be cheap, around 5 grand parts and labor, but it'll be done and it'll be something I won't have to worry about for 500,000 to 600,000 miles.
NOTE TO ASPIRING O/O's
This right here is why it's so critical to have your money in place for the inevitable repairs. Things will break. Things that break are very expensive and they cost you twice. The repair cost itself along with the lost revenue. I watched a $2500 load go down the road today due to this. Crap happens and you need to be financially prepared when it does.
More later...Panhandle flash, Airborne, Vic Firth and 11 others Thank this. -
Holy Sheat, Batman! So, with lost revenue that's probably a 10k fix?
Vic Firth, Oxbow and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Around 8k once it's all totalled up. Tough to break off but that's life. I never really understood why the previous owner laid out all the money for the overhaul, complete with new head, and stopped short on the injectors which were beyond their service life. I had hoped to get 6 months out of them but was prepared to change them Day 1 if necessary. I dont like partial fixes or patch jobs. Fix the dam thing the right way the first time or don't even fool with it.Panhandle flash, Airborne, Vic Firth and 4 others Thank this.

Well buddy at least it happened in Omaha and not out in bfe under a load ...fyi isx heads are a throw away item at inframe time .
Shock Therapy and Oxbow Thank this. -
Roger that, on where she crapped out. Didn't know about the heads being a throw away part.
Weird thing about the injectors. Both of them failed right at the 10 yardstick on 29 in Iowa. Both times i pulled into the Sapps there to figure things out...maybe i should avoid that stretch of 29.Shock Therapy, Tug Toy, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -
I see a patternShock Therapy, Broke Down 69, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.
