Just sometimes it seems like it doesn't have the power it should, generally after a few fill ups at one of the big chains that like their biofuels. By boost pump you talking like an airdog type of thing, no I don't have one of those thought about getting one though.

What do you think the cost will be for a new ecm and a harness to fix the problem?
Shock Therapy, Broke Down 69 and Tug Toy Thank this. -
This would be from the main feed line from the fuel tank.
It would be down along the frame, near the tanks.
Really is nothing more than an electric fuel pump.
Not a fan of the air/fuel/water separator things they sell.
Diesel will absorb water, thats the nature of the fuel. It has its limits to saturation level. When it get to that point, the rest of the water will be sitting at the bottom of the tank.
You could put a water separator unit in, look at marine parts. They have some simple inline unit for reasonable cost. Match that with the boost/lift pump and you saved money and have the same benifit.
Nothing wrong with biofuels. Good at keeping fuel system clean and has more lubricity than straight diesel.
Slightly lower energy density ( BTUs ) can have a slight drop in MPGs, maybe a point or two at worst in whats pumped at most retailers.Shock Therapy and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Keep reminding yourself that and you will be alright in the end. Keep the brain business focused and keep all emotions out of every decision regarding the truck.Shock Therapy, Feedman, Panhandle flash and 1 other person Thank this.

The part that is often overlooked.
When things go sideways. The person you need to talk to is in the mirror.Shock Therapy, Feedman, Broke Down 69 and 2 others Thank this. -
Yea I'm not sure if the lift pumps really help much on a big truck. Maybe the big chains just have cheaper fuel or something sometimes it just runs a little hotter and has less power at the same time just wierd.Shock Therapy and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

There was an ECM hiccup yesterday. It faulted out and starting missing again for about 80 miles, then it cleared up and has run well since. I snagged a load back to Omaha and will have it looked at Tuesday. So it looks like I'm going to get to enjoy a long Memorial Day weekend if I don't get wiped out by a tornado in Illinois tonight. Of all the dam times to have a 5100 pound load
More later...Panhandle flash, Vic Firth, Shock Therapy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Uh Umm,,, where abouts in Illinois?Vic Firth Thanks this.
