This all goes back to if you owned the truck and trailer outright you wouldn’t be having this internal conflict about what “the right thing to do” is.
Sounds like the company you work for is a good one and I’m sure if a real manager knew the situation you would already be home. Problem is dispatch and middle managers hear crap all the time and just get to the point of lumping it all in one category. They can no longer deceminate the real stories from the cry babies. So they just treat it all the same.
Guy I’m leased to was tooting his own horn the other day. Asked how I would make it without him? I said “Easy, I just get my own authority or lease on to the other 3 people that have the same deal as him. I like it here just fine and it works out good for BOTH of us so I see no reason to change anything?”
I don’t think that was the response he was looking for from me? I know what my own authority cost (all of it) and his costs are just far enough under it to keep me here but not that much more $ to do my own thing?
Hope you get home soon.Last edited: Jun 10, 2018

Ok, here's one for the books. Found a trailer washout on Asland about 1.5 miles from Muranos. Came in, conducted my business and asked about the three truckstops that are reasonably close. Guy says to me, "Just park in the back here, no problem." Tried to pay him but he wouldn't take a penny even after I told him I'd probably be here until 1800 or so tomorrow.
Any of you guys in the vicinity of 3968 S. Ashland needing a washout, come see these guys at Tulsa Power. $23.00 and a dam good job to boot. These are the types of people we need to support. -

The road can be hard when family is suffering. I lost a close Uncle while on the road and it turned into the loneliest 1200 miles of my life . Good luck and safe travels.
