Yes, 50 is typical. I too drive a truck that can do 75 at least on a level plane, or down hill. Depends on the weight when going up. But out west I can usually figure a quicker time. And once you start going more and more often you usually pick a specific place for you first stop. For me it's usually the 100mm on I-80/90 at the service plaza in Clyde OH. From there I can typically make Des Moines, IA, then Rawlins WY, and finally SLC, UT, where I usually have my drop. The reason for the longer distance from Des Moines to Rawlins is that IA is 70, with NE, and WY having a 75mph speed limit. If I end up with a truck that can't do that, I will have to modify my usual rest stops.
