Then you don't like to go home. I also read you said I've worked for Beacon in the past. You do not know what you are talking about.

Michele, they took 421.00 from me and had the nerve to send me a check for my last pay, the amount? 0.00 Yes they sent me a check for 0.00. took all of my last check.

This is not true. There are three dispatchers there and only 150 or less drivers. 3 times 80 is 240. How could each dispatcher handle turcks that are not there? And if they were so good as you claim, why did you leave? Pay attention drivers, this was likely written by someone in office. Perhaps Lisa?

That is really funny. There is guys running here with me at Beacon every week and they are running over 3000 miles a week without even breaking a sweat. If you stay available you will run. New equipment is great! Other post must have thought he was somewhere else.

Okay, several points-
1) I still drive for Beacon. Even at its worst (and all companies have worsts) nothing at Beacon has gotten bad enough to make me quit.
2) With reference to other recent posts on this forum: I average over 3000 miles/week, and I have always gotten back to the yard either on or before a scheduled home-time. Yes, I take my home-time at the yard, which may be the difference for other drivers having more difficulty...but the last time, they even arranged swaps to make sure I was there in time.
Now, the reason I'm posting today...I have previously written about Beacon as a problem company. I try to be even-handed and fair in my complaints, but to tell you the truth as I experience it. Today I want to tell you that I just had a very GOOD experience with Beaon's management being very supportive, and taking the driver's side.
I picked up a sealed load at a regular customer. This is one of our major accounts, which makes Beacon taking my side that much more significant. The paperwork was wrong, asnd the trailerLast edited: Sep 6, 2014

I swear I will never post on this forum again using a tablet after this!
As I was saying...the trailer was overloaded. I got an overweight ticket (yes, I didn't scale, but had the paperwork been correct there wouldn't have been a problem.) With the weight right, I was stretched beyond bridge law. It was ugly, but they let me off the scale, and I dragged it back to our yard. The safety manager, Jeff, checked the load, the bills, etc. He reported it to the ops manager, Randy. Randy then went to bat for me, and the shipper is paying the ticket.
Most companies I have worked for would have said "driver responsibility." I doubt any would have presented it to one of their best customers. But Beacon did.
On September 9th, I will be here 3 1/2 Years. I won't say its the greatest company in the world, with the best pay and benefits, etc. But the problems, or disgreements I've had here have always gotten resolved -
frozen brakes can happen with ANY company's equipment...for that you just need to carry a BFH.

So, how is it that my husband was available all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday but didn't get a load until 12:21am Tuesday morning? Beacon does NOT have the freight to keep drivers running. He stays out for 3 weeks to make a good check, and make up for being home 3 or 4 days (special events, etc), but can't manage to get any miles from them. Why stay out if you aren't even going to break 2,000 miles a week? His 1 year anniversary is coming up and I swear they are trying to make it to where he only gets one decent check out of the two that are coming to him! One for paid vacation and one for pay. How do you go from a 3,000 mile week to a 1,300 mile week...in the middle of summer! Best freaking time of the year for freight, except right before Christmas. Home time is great, don't get me wrong. But home time doesn't pay the bills. When you only require a driver to be out for 10 days, and they willingly stay out for 21 days or more, why are there no miles???
