I know they make them, you just do not see a lot of them. Heck they are even rare on truck paper.

Just yesterday I was wondering about how I could go about staying clean so I could potentially step my game up (clean button up shirts, etc). I get dirty a lot... Especially with the tarping.

A little off the original topic but does anyone have any suggestions without changing clothes? Don't let anything touch you? Lol.

Loading and unloading I almost always wore coveralls. Of course a lot of places I picked up and delivered required flame resistant clothing. I also had some cheap Tyvek ones for greasing... just toss them when done.

That what I don't understand. By the time I get done tarping I'm usually drenched in sweat and my fore arms are black from the tarps and bungies. Maybe I need to wash my tarps more?

I do try my best to be presentable to customers for the most part but I dont think I would go as far as they do and wear a tie. I get caught on plenty of things as is without having a preset noose around my neck.

I usually unload then reload the same day when I get empty with the flatbed. So I'll get dirty on the unload...change into something presentable and wash my arms and face check in at the next shipper then change into the clothes I unloaded in.

I don't think the tryin not to get dirty would get very far. Or you'd be slow as ####

Coveralls and getting the right amount off layers off clothing.
That can be just boxershorts and the coverall in summer or having 5 layers on in winter.
So yes i have different size coveralls .

There was a Missouri DOT that shut down a flatbed carrying poles like this and claimed they were unsafe and harming the public. Outnon the west coast that's a normal thing you'll see every day of the week, and it's perfectly legal

I took a load out to Illinois. It was interesting the difference when i got out that way. On the west coast no one says anything. Out that way I got a lot of colorful comments, many people who think it's unsafe or can't believe I managed to get past the scales like that.

I don't remember which ones but some states the permits specified a flat bed in the float position.

Many years ago I may have driven a Rock and Roll tour bus for a period of time (still a little fuzzy on the memory) and one particular customer required the drivers to wear a tie. We wore clip-ons because of that exact reason, if it got caught on something it would just pop off and not drag your head into the engine belts.
