Sigh, I worked with a few dirtbags, but no real animals.
About 15 years ago I was riding my motorcycle down the stewart-cassier highway in Northern bc. I rode down to a river by a bridge. Shut off my bike, took my helmet off and took out my ear plugs.
I heard grunting, turned around, there was a grizzly about 10 feet away.
Stuffed my earplugs in my pocket, stuffed my helmet on my head and rode to the other side of the bridge.

I've never made the acquaintance of a grizzly. I'm totally ok with that. Just the ancient moth eaten stuffed one at the entrance to a children's museum I used to go to was scary enough and it was obviously dead over 100 years. Huge beyond comprehension compared to the black ones.

Family and I did a 2 week trip up the Alaska highway and down the stewart-cassier highway a few years ago. We saw 45 bears in 2 days, including a white bear and a few grizzlies. Beautiful animals that must be respected.

    RUN-RUN MOTHER****** RUN!!!!
Black bears are EVERYWHERE in Massachusetts. A few years ago one decided to go sightseeing in the downtown section of Athol, about 20 minutes west of where I live. Because of a technicality (too close to the start of the official hunting season) Fish and Wildlife had to put it down. Normally they would tranquilize it and relocate it elsewhere in the state.
Lately however we’ve also had to deal with bobcat and mountain lion sightings(those are the worst)along with the usual turkeys, moose, coyote and fox sightings..
