Do what you love and the money will be there. Smart man told me that, can't say that it's always true: but being satisfied with what you do is worth more than money and misery

i was talking to an oo and he brought up a good point...pre or low emmision (pre 2007) trucks are getting scarce...when i buy a truck should buy a truck that i am going to keep for a long time somthing in the $40-$50k range put down 1/2 and finance the ballance or should i buy a truck in the $20k range that i will plan on replaceing once i start making money....i am also wondering about engines??? N14/ISX,DETROIT 60 12.7/OR 14 L,OR A MACK 427/460...i am wondering wich engine will be the most ecconimnel to operate/repair...i would like a 13 speed i would concider a 10 speed....so should i conciditer a W9,or a INTERNATIONAL 9900,or a coronado or still buy a 9400 a t600 a vision or a century for the milage

Question for you O/O's, if you wouldn't mind.

Are there any among you that ever regretted the decision you made, and would go back to company work if you could?

I was never a company driver. I went from a desk job right into my own authority and love it.

    Wow. Impressive.:)

I drive "company", and I'm getting really disgusted with the favoritism around here, and the T/M's apparent complete lack of willingness to do anything about it whatsoever. Seniority doesn't count for diddly squat, and he's even said as much. I'm sick of the ones at the bottom of the list getting all the daytime and weekend linehaul runs.:banghead:

At least you owner op's don't have to put up with that👍

No regrets here. Consider that you can always take a step back. Or several steps back. I run my own show, I could always lease my truck to someone, or drive a company truck. Or mow lawns, or flip burgers.

    Derailed Thanks this.
