There are leaders and followers, some do well with their own truck and some do not,,When I bought my first truck I got a plain jane truck,,my major things I wanted was a 13spd min,,engine brake, 400hp (big motor back then) and a truck I could run for at least one or more years and only have to put tires on,,the goal was to save enough money to cover any kind of major repair after one year.
I succeeded and 13 months later I had saved $20K and then bought a new truck,, Look for a truck that will get you thru the first year or 2 with out having to do an overhaul and one that will have a decent resale when you want to trade up in the future,,
stay away for big fleet trade ins with high milage,,they do min maintenance and get rid of them at about 400 to 500,000 miles when a truck maintenance sky rockets, leaving the next owner to pay for all the wear and tear on the truck

Wish you the best in your venture. Money is not everyghing but we sure need it to survive. With a $5000 bonus last year I grossed $83,000...doing good until my wife had a problem with her heart. For some reason a man contacted me and ask what it took to get me so I'm at home every night now, at least for the last 3 months. Wish things were different because like you my heart is on the open road. Best of luck to you.
