Becoming an owner/operator is a great goal, but do do DO your homework. You will have to learn things as an o/o that your never knew existed; you will have to find ways to get your truck legal with duct tape and zip ties, and when something breaks, you will hear that soul crushing cha-ching sound. That being said, there is no freedom more exciting than your livelihood being in your own hands. Frankly, I would wait a couple years for the regulatory world to calm down, because if things go way wrong, o/o's will be dead. Other than that, save, save, save. Do not think about going o/o without at least 30k in the bank, if not 50k.
