Yeah, no. Newbie=no money. I do not consider $120 cheap. Is there anywhere else that would have a more reasonable price?

as long as it is good for at least minus 20 maybe 30..????
the inside of the truck "should" not get that cold.
the reason why a sleeping bag is better, is because you can wrap yourself in it to stay warm, using your body heat as well. think of a pair of mittens for instance. your fingers will be warmer in mittens than in gloves. with blankets, you run the ever so popular risk of having it fall off you while you sleep, plus you can never really can have enough body heat in between blankets, as there will always be an "opening" you cannot close up. -
buy 2 of the $15 sleepining bags and put 1 inside the other add a quilt or a couple of heavy blankets on top should be good in the minus temps.

That's another rule that is totally assinine. Who's business is it what I sleep in. The DOT is over stepping their boundries in their quest for total control.

Put a sheet of foam board under the mattress and seal up any cracks from underneath. Use some inexpensive flanel sheets a cheap overstock.com down comforter, and add cheap blankets if you need more.
You should be able to pick most of this up for under $100 and have 2 sets of sheets to rotate when you're at the house.
