The trucker have a chance to finally get the numbers right by pushing for education requirements for new drivers and apprentice programs to last longer than 1 month turnaround on new hands. If I see someone from a Mega that don’t have a clue I refuse to help and just turn on my camera and record.
Been using the ELD a week now

Or drive exempt trucks per fmcsa ruling. It's pretty simple but some people think the shiny penny is with more than a dull looking penny.

That's bad and bad attitude. You'd rather record that disturbs me.Highway Sailor, tucker, spyder7723 and 3 others Thank this.

I don’t aid these companies in the run of the mill operations. Would you rather all industries get this way including Medical, under the light of greed a hospital would let a partial trained student operate on you in the ER. If something goes wrong it’s malpractice, but if someone hits your truck and your sleep and either wake you or leave and it was a student costing you a few weeks of uncalled for downtime. Then you would understand the need to reform this business and not just the HOS aspect of it.

How was my remark disturbing if they don’t get out and look you can train them again how to back and they still do what they want. And now if they hit something or someone now I would be partially at fault. Like I said I sit in my seat and record from experience I had one hit my Peterbilt and tried to leave and luckily someone else recorded everything.lol... I thank god for that. I keep my family and friends safe by educating them about the training in this industry and how not to drive around trucks.

Many of these shippers and receivers don't care what rate you charge them for detention. We have different tiers of detention pay for certain brokers, but our standard practice is 2 hrs free, then $85/hr for the next two hrs, and $125/hr beyond that, as a driver I get 30% of that. I've had customers tell me they don't care, they'll just fight the detention.Oldironfan Thanks this.

Not really, the added cost of ELD's is quite expensive depending on the size of the fleet. $1,000 to $2,000 per month depending on the service you're using an dthe equipment.

If snafu is about to happen honk. Than go yell a bit. Than offer help. At least when I see this.

You know what though it should ease the 2hr free time as now Time is Money now. So if that truck sit the should pay from the moment you got there till you leave. None of our time should be free.

Keep dreaming. LMAO.
